Wyatt Homes Heads up Framing for Extreme Home Makeover Edition
Wyatt Homes and their employees were asked to be lead framers for the Virginia Beach Extreme Home Makeover project. Many volunteers were involved working under the guidance of Wyatt Homes. We started our part of the project at 6:30 am on Tuesday. At 11:30 Wednesday morning the house was completely "dried in". In other words all of the walls were in place, the roof had been built and closed in, and all of the necessary blocking and hangers were completed. Wayne Wyatt, owner of Wyatt Homes gave much deserved credit to his crew and the many skilled men and women that helped. It was a total team effort to complete this project in the 106 hours that were allotted. They worked 29 straight hours only stopping to eat. They worked through the cold of night and rain showers that lasted 5 hours.
After we left Wednesday the crew went home to rest. Not knowing we were going to be asked to come back and help with the building of the steps, decks, and other carpentry that needed to be done. Wyatt's team along with others worked a total of 50 hours in 3 days.
It was a great experience and taught me things about team work, organization, and how a community can come together and work for the benefit of a deserving family. I have been in contact with the management of Extreme Home Makeover and expressed my gratitude for allowing us to be a part of this experience. We also expressed that we are willing to be involved with other projects as needed.
Let Wyatt Homes bring this leadership and experience to your next project at your home.
God Bless All
Wayne Wyatt
